jimsong Posted July 29, 2002 Posted July 29, 2002 I've been play the Jedi Knight series, and wonder. What is the relationship between Kyle and Jan? Can anyone tell me?
Revan Bakr' Posted July 29, 2002 Posted July 29, 2002 Yeah, Kyle's married and he's having a fling with Jan; LOL!!
D.L. Posted July 29, 2002 Posted July 29, 2002 Lovers doesn't mean an extra-martial relationship. *rolls eyes*
00M-187 Posted July 29, 2002 Posted July 29, 2002 You could cut the sexual tension between them with a knife. U can tell Kyle wants to show her his lightsaber!
Hanch Saode Posted July 29, 2002 Posted July 29, 2002 They are secret lovers...combining a sexual relationship, with intense action...they are action heroes!!!!!!!!!!!!
Revan Bakr' Posted July 29, 2002 Posted July 29, 2002 U can tell Kyle wants to show her his lightsaber! HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAA!!!!!!!!!!!!! Yeah, and Kyle almost falls to the darkside because he is so angry that Desann got to show her his first!!
Xenon812 Posted July 29, 2002 Posted July 29, 2002 Kyle uses The Force to shove his Light Sabre In her Dark Side....
diluted_q Posted July 29, 2002 Posted July 29, 2002 aren't they actually a couple or whatever? I seen them kiss and stuff .. yeah.
razorace Posted July 30, 2002 Posted July 30, 2002 Seriously, originally Jan was like Kyle's dispatcher. She used to just work behind the scenes while Kyle blew stuff up. In Jedi Outcast, they discovered that they were more than just friends.
Reiver Posted July 30, 2002 Posted July 30, 2002 And thus, the story unfolds, into a slimey hot....never mind.
Nebelwerfer_ Posted July 30, 2002 Posted July 30, 2002 heh, those emoticons are opeing my immagination.
razorace Posted July 30, 2002 Posted July 30, 2002 Kyle just better hope that Jan is the "female" of her species. (Farscape reference)

Kurgan Posted July 31, 2002 Posted July 31, 2002 You can read the book series for more info, but their relationship has grown and changed over the years. Initially, Jan was a Rebel mole who leaked info to an Imperial officer (? I forget his actual rank) named Kyle Katarn that the death of his parents was not due to a Rebel sneak attack, but was part of an Imperial cover-up. This was instrumental in getting Kyle to leave the Empire and find his own answers. Initially he doesn't trust anyone but Jan, though he later becomes more and more loyal to the fledgling New Republic. Still, she's the one who helped him see past the propaganda and lies. The story gets modified somewhat (the above is from Dark Forces) because in JK we learn that Kyle's mother died before his father Morgan. I'm not sure if she would have died a long time before or also as a result of the Empire. But in JK we learn that Jerec killed his father, and this opens an old wound and leads to the storyline there. Throughout the series, Jan is Kyle's flight officer and gives him his mission briefings. In JK2, they have gone off together as mercenaries again, and they may have done this briefly as well. I figured that Jan was more loyal to the Rebel Alliance than Kyle was, as least at the start. He's more of a loner, but she softens him up a bit.. ; ) They never really get romantic (there are hints about it in the books) until JK2, so its possible that's the first time things have really gotten that close between them (for all we know).
Nebelwerfer_ Posted July 31, 2002 Posted July 31, 2002 what??? there's a novel about dark forces?????? tell me!!!!! cant wait!!!!!!!! *** runs to bookstore

Does Jan ever get kidnapped in the other games? I think that's why Kyle HAD to kiss her, cause he could've lost her at that point but in the other games she was safe flying in the "Moldy Crow" giving instructions.
princessliar Posted July 31, 2002 Posted July 31, 2002 what??? there's a novel about dark forces?????? Aye, there's a series of three graphic novels (with some awesome artwork) by William C. Dietz, but they're out of print. You could try getting hold of them from a second-hand website though. I recommend http://www.alibris.com - that's the one I used.
