I have finally released my first map ffa_mysterytemple and btw, just to remind you guys that there are some graphical bugs with the fire in-game so, if u know how to fix it tell me.

I will email you guys the file instead of uploading it on a ftp server since netfirm some how wouldnt let you download a .zip file bigger than 256kb :/ so, email me your email address @ kcwoon@hotmail.com or if you want, post them up here so that I will know who is interested and i will email you the map together with the required information :)

i want to start off saying that this map was a whole lot better than my first map good job for that. and anything that i am about to say just remember its only my opinion (you should get lots more to test it).

 

anyway your map was a bit too bland. square room to square room isnt exactly my fav type of map.

the doors eventually just kinda got annoying and they didnt seem to fit the rest of the temple. s

ome of your textures overlapped around he breakable floor but you can check that out and fix it.

too many weapons can sometimes lessen the quality of the map in my eyes.

repitition is not always the best thing for a map.

you really need more open spaces so people could get a duel going and jump around (people like that). and you definately need more curves (they can make a map sssooooo much better looking) just look at kamino landing platform (great work by rich diesal) and how he incorporates curves so well

 

what i liked a lot were your traps. they were great. if you ever make another map or redo this one put them in!! i loved the breakable floor (although in the cramped environment it did take away from the trap). teh fire was a nice touch and jump pads are alwasy fun and people should put more in their maps.

 

overall i wouldnt submit this if i were you (sorry). but thats nothing to be ashamed of nobody's first map is ever good enough to be submitted. you woulda died if you saw mine. anyway i hope you dont take anything i said too hard and again get more opinions i am very striict. happy map making!

hey, if it wasnt for your comments, i would never know where my my mistake is! :D btw, thnx for testing it out and btw, did u get the coloured pixel falling out thingy? oh yeah btw, is there anyway to scale ALL the rooms instead of doing it 1 by 1? btw, i plant to make in lots of pillars so that there is only 1 pillar that will trigger the room crashing effect. :D thnx

to scale the whole level:

 

first, select every brush in your level. to do this in gtkradiant, press the "i" button. (invert)

 

in jk2radient, drag a big box around your level, then click the select inside button.

 

now, go to selection > scale.

 

i think you understand the rest... :D

that does sound bad but dont give up! anyway it looks like no one else agrees with me. it just goes to show you that you cant trust just one persons opinion even mine. if many people go against my opinion then go ahead and send it in(forget me). i just sent in my map called "Shower Room Access" (from the movie "The Rock"). to get me back you can download it and tell me how much it sucks;)
