TroopCommander
I'm going to try and model some anime characters and was wondering who thinks milkshape3d is better than gmax or 3dsmax or vice versa
Major Clod
3DS Max is the only program you will be able to use to make character models. MS3D and GMAX will only let you make static objects like lightsabers and blasters, they do not have the capability to export into the correct format for compiling of the model. Emon
You can, however, make your model in MS3D or Gmax (Gmax is nearly identicle in interface to 3DSM), then export to 3DS format, then finish the rest in 3DSM. If you're going to use MS3D for this, I recommend using the GLM Importer to import an existing model and then modify it.

Revan Bakr'
Are these the tools I need to model and/or skin? I mean, I've been trying to skin with this Imagex or something. I use it to edit digital camera pictures, but it's a disaster when it comes to skinning, etc. Where can I get a editing tool to skin or model? I don't care how good the tool is... Emon
Gmax is just as hard as 3DSM. If you're going to make a model in Gmax then put it into 3DSM, you might as well just make it all in 3DSM. Gmax is free from http://www.discreet.com, and 3DSM costs some 3 grand USD (you can acquire it elsewhere for free of course...)... For 3DSM info go to http://www.discreet.com as well. Gmax is basically the free version of 3DSM.
