Admiral Vostok
Has anyone else ever tried only using units from the movies to play SWGB? My friend and I tried it once and it makes for a very interesting and challenging game. Of course you can only do it with certain civs whose workers feature in the movies (Gungans, Wookiees and Naboo can't be used). It also means no trade can take place, and no long distance bombardments from cannons or air cruisers. You can assume they all get their Jedi and Sith units. Here are the civs and their restrictions that I sorted out: Galactic Empire: Worker, Medic (although in ESB the medic was actually part of the Rebels), Probe Droid, Trooper, Mounted Trooper, Scout, Mech Destroyer, Assault Mech, Fighter, Bomber, Air Transport, Bounty Hunter. >Empire is pretty easy to use especially now ATATs can shoot air. Before all you could defend against air was other fighters, which didn't last long against shielded enemies. Rebel Alliance: Worker, Medic, Trooper, Mounted Trooper, Fighter, Bomber, A-Wing, Air Transport, Airspeeder, Bounty Hunter. >Rebels are also tough as they just have air, but I usually play only air when I'm rebels anyway. Trade Federation: Worker (although their droids have a different name to the ones seen in the movie, they are obviously supposed to be them), Trooper, Strike Mech, Mech Destroyer, Assault Mech, Fighter, Destroyer Droid. >Tough to use against air, as they can only use Fighters. Republic: Worker (the droid is the one in the Dexter's Diner), Trooper, Assault Mech, Artillery, Fighter, Air Transport, Jedi Strafighter, Bounty Hunter. >Haven't tried it yet but I mostly use only Jedi with Republic so it shouldn't be a problem. Confederacy: Worker, Trooper, Mounted Trooper (The mount is ridden by Geonosians in the movie), Scout (The bike was ridden by Count Dooku in the movie), Strike Mech, Mech Destroyer, Anti-Air Mobile, Fighter, Geonosian Warrior, Bounty Hunter. >Also haven't tried, but they look to be able to defend against air well, which is the biggest challenge. They don't really have any good building destroying capabilities. I've probably missed something out. I might also add that if you're willing to allow the Gungan worker, the Gungans have a few good units, but absolutely no air defense at all, so you'd have to not play air units to be fair (although against computers you can't do that). Well, try it out and see what you think!

jcb231
A lot of this depends on how accurate and strict you want to be....Confederate mounted troopers as seen in the game are not in the movie. In the movie, Geonosians rode the animals, not super battle droids. Same with the scout....a battle droid did not ride one in the movie. Also, you could allow wookie workers as wookies are seen in the form of Chewbacca and some wookie senators. You could also allow Wookie standard troopers if you consider Chewbacca an example of a wookie soldier.
Admiral Vostok
Yeah, but if you can win with just workers and troopers I'll be very impressed. I did mention the problem about the Confederacy Mounted Trooper and scout, but I personally would allow it as they're seen in the movie and are actually part of the Confederacy's forces. I also forgot to mention the three Confederacy controllable predators as well.
