The maturity here is so thick I could cut it with a knife.

For the weapons problem, you need to make sure you've got the classes of your NPC right. For example, a class like tavion, reborn, desann, luke, or jedi will make the NPC act like tavion, reborn, etc. If you want an NPC with a gun, you'll have to type stormtrooper or rebel, and for an NPC with a lightsaber you'll have to type reborn, desann, tavion, or shadowtrooper to get enemies and luke or jedi to get allies. I've tried other classes, like Weequay and Trandoshan but those don't seem to work. And, because the NPC will take on the attributes of its class, an NPC with a Shadowtrooper class will become invisible if you've got notarget on and drop a Force Crystal when it dies. Also, be aware that classes and ranks are related. For example, a Reborn with a class above lt won't work right. Ranks tell the game who's who, and if those NPCs are killed, NPCs of lower rank may retreat. For example, if you kill an Imperial Officer, the Stormtroopers in the area may run away. Classes also affect lightsaber hilts: a reborn class will get you a Reborn's saber hilt, a luke class will get you Luke's saber hilt, etc.

For the models problem, I've found that renaming the model folders in the models/players folder works. For example, if you want to create a Han Solo NPC, then you would unzip the skin/model pk3 with WinZip and find the models/players/hansolo folder (or whatever folder whose model you want your NPC to have the appearance of). Say you want MajorClod's "Han Solo from Empire Strikes Back" model. You would go to models/players/han_esb and rename the han_esb folder to rebel_han or rebelhan or whatever you're naming your NPC. You NEED to have one of four prefixes: stormtrooper, rebel, reborn, or jedi. That tells the game what kind of NPC your character in question is—a stormtrooper is an enemy with a gun, a jedi is an ally with a lightsaber, etc.

*whew*

Also, be aware that the game seems to have a limit of NPCs it can support. I don't know what it is, but once you pass it you can't load any maps or missions or savegames. It'll complain about the NPC extensions being too large, so be sure to limit yourself in your NPC creation.

Emon's tutorial was very helpful, but personally, my computer is so jacked up I had to make separate pk3s for the NPCs.

You know why the Massassi forums are the best around? Because threads like these would be locked up within ten minutes and their starter banned. No one there cares much for flame war starters, and whiney immature ones at that.
