Converting a map..

I plan on converting a map that I have from SP, to duel. It's perfect for that mode too. I have actually 1 question about it..

I've noticed in some other duel .pk3's they have a script folder, and then there's an .arena file. Do I have to use gtkradiant to make one of these? If so I'm probably screwed because the map's already a .bsp. Other than that I believe I'm ok, and all I need is a good level shot. But back to the question. How would I go about making an .arena file? And do I even need it? I only saw 4 lines of text in the file saying, IE

{

map "duel_academy"

longname "Jedi Training Grounds"

fraglimit 10

type "ffa duel"

}

Thanks to anyone that can help. And no, I'm not taking credit for the map. ;-/

alright... But I want arena as the extension, not .txt and end up being a notepad or whatever file. Looks like that what would happen.

If you type it in notepad, just put quotes around the name when you save it i.e. "duel_academy.arena".

This will force Notepad to give it this exact name, and not attach the default .txt extension as it normally does.

Or, if you have already made the file, make sure Windows is configured to show file extensions, then select the file and press F2 to rename it. Simply remove the .txt extension, when it asks you if you are sure you want to change the extension, click Yes.

Cool, thanks. I could though just copy the arena file, erase everything that's in it, stuff it with the geonosis stuff, then rename it right? :D

**Edit: Meant to editted this earlier, but It's alright. The quotes did the job. Thanks a bunch guys! Now I gotta figure out how to submit it. :p DAMN HOTMAIL!

or you could right click -> new text document -> name it yourmapname.arena and make sure .arena files are associated with notepad. that's what i do, saves a boatload of time.
