Does anyone have a good chrome textures?

I am doing Count Dooku's saber(That is when he was still on the light side). Since I can't use one texture file for the saber I need multible files, but I can reduce the saber down to 3 meshes(Model talk. for anyone that doesn't know, but this is a modeling forum so most likely won't need it). So if I can get ahold of the files I can finish the saber. I've got the model made all I need is the textures. I've got to have a nice chrome(for the brunt of the saber) and a red texture(for the button). So if you are able to please help.

 

And I can unwrap. I can't make the textures do to the fact I don't have a good texture program.

hmmm you could try GOOGLE, computer talk for GOOD SEARCH engine. You should probably state the paiting program your using.

 

IF your using photoshop your best search will come from

 

"photoshop" realistic metal

That is the problem I only have the default windows XP paint programs. That is why I'm asking.

well that is a problem......see what you can get from here, you might have to do TONS OF cropping.

try a google on texture libraries. There are tons of free textures. Or use a digital camera and take you own.

I'll look. Thanks for the help. And about the camera that would be killing myself in my case. The camera is my bro's and he is protective of his stuff.

hmm, just have him take a pic for you, you 'could' probably get away with taking a pic of you pots and pans.

Now I only have one problem. I found a texture that looks good on it, but in the game it won't load the textures and the games says

Can't load non-power-2-dims

Now how do I get this to work?

I have no idea, sorry man. make sure the images are 512*512. make sure they are jpg. Other than that, I have no idea.

Keep trying WhiteRaider, It took me quite awile to get used to UVWrapping a saber ( just ask all the other people i bothered in the process )

Hey if you have access to photoshop 5 or better, go to http://www.phong.com or http://www.designsbymark.com

 

they have great tutorails, and its really satisfying to make your own customized textures and sh|t.

 

I've been doing web graphix for 2 years, and i still go back every now and then to see whats new.

 

and BakerS8er is right. UVwrapping us hard:D so just give up. i did. heh

UVWrapping is hard but you shouldnt just give up on it....once you figure out how to outstretch your wireframe model, The only thing standing in your way would be the skinning ( which im just horrible at:p) so dont give up..
