Its not strange... I would put money down that there are binary codes in those files that are not in the right spot... Im not saying the disk is bad... Im saying the disk has changed the files...

if the code was in the wrong place then the pc wouldnt be able to find it ... but it can!

and this started when u told lexx a dos 5 game on disks would be useless

and im pointing out that a Dos 3.3 starter disk works fine!

how can u argue this cammy my boy?

Clem... I didnt want to pull this out and show you... but data can be lost on a floopy... unless you can prove floopy makers and computer gurus all over the world that your disk is magic and cannot lose data...

all the bbc 1's (about 20 or so) and about 50 pc disks ... ALL of which WORK

Your missing the point... there is LOST DATA!!! If you think about it... there is a small cluster on your floopy somewhere that is lost...

after 15 years most of it would have gone back to its random state by what ur saying

... think about this... A file can run... wow... A file thats missing data still can run... up to the point where it needs that cluster of binary thats missing... ones it gets to that it starts to scream errors...

theres no way i can prove that these disk work ... cos they wont run on my pc its too modern

but think about this theres what 20 files on that disk?

all of them have the area of data used to check the dos version

ud think 1 of em wouldve lost it over 15 years!!

im fed up of arguing this now .... im going to bed

Its all in the 1's and 0's which you admit... your computer cant cheak... but if it could... it would be throwing errors up all over the place...
