My JK2 Levels... Screenshots.

I just started making levels few months ago... I started map making because I wanted to make maps for my clan. Here's some screenshots of my first levels i've ever made...

 

 

Carrier 1

Hanger 1 Hanger 2 Hanger 3

 

I'm showing the people, who think they can't level edit, what can be done in short time if you put ur minds to it. Out of the 3 levels, only The Halls of Shaune (temple looking one) is complete... the rebel Hanger is a level I am making for a clan... which won't be done for sometime. Anyways, don't be too hard on me this is my first time level editing... but please do give comments.

I actually like the Hangar map the best....

Rebel hangars look neater than Imperial ones do...cause there ships aren't as boxy...But Star Destroyer hangars have those neat-o claws that hold the tie fighter and launch them, like in Tie Fighter, the space sim game..... those hangars are my favorite...

 

anyhow... really nice hangars..lol

Ya the hanger was slightly modeled after rouge squad.. i love that game... but the hanger is part of a big ship... starship actually, with trainning rooms and control rooms... planning to have a mini-city within the starship complete with bars and such... but that going to take a while =)

The Carrier level has to be my least complete level out of the 3... right now its just a aircraft carrier starwars style... its somewhat if an airship... not a spaceship.. airship... which means u can run around on the docks of the ship and stuff.. the screenshot is the the main control tower of the carrier... still far from being complete but i think i will add insides to the airship. Anyways, it's tuff to do all these ideas at once since I am a one man team =/ so all this stuff is going to take a while.

I am currently looking for a group... a level editing only group to join? Anyone got any leads I can follow? hey kya4life, if you are looking for OTHER star wars galaxy maps to make. the Project duality could use some expert advise, because we are running a little high for r_speeds and TRIS count. we will be releasing the duel version soon, so if you want the sdk, I could send it to ya the day of release.

well, let's just say expert-like advise, because the screenshots look amazing, and I am just wanting this map project I am running to be performance-friendly, and texture-happy, ya know.. right now it is texture-happy, performance-....not so friendly... Unless you have a nice machine like 1/3 of the JO community does..

well, let me put it to you like this in star wars terms, the tris count is like midichlorians, right? and LivingDeadJedi's Episode 1 is Yoda, well, our DUEL map is off the charts, over 20,000 tris... the gameplay is fine on my 900Mhz, ATI RADEON 7200 with a little tweaking, but some people don't have 900 Mhz chips, or 640 MB RAM, or an ATI RADEON 7200 (i am getting my GeForce4 Ti4200 this week ;) ) so the map will run fine on my pc (especially since I am also getting a new motherboard and processor)

but the release date is in the near-distant future.

well, that and what could be done to improve it, maybe use some of your own ideas as an expansion map. cause even mappers/project leader seek help from others for tips and suggestions. So if you could lend some tips and advise on your spare time... after you get ahold of it, about a week or so later, we will be publicly releasing the SDK, so other mappers can take a crack, but when I saw how your maps looked just through the screenshots, I thought Id give it a shot and ask ya for advise, and see if you wanted to take your hand at it.

 

 

P.S. I am the project leader, not the mapper.
