Origin of Guybrush Threepwood's Porcelain-Phobia

Why do you think Guybrush hates porcelain so much? Could it be an incident that happnened in MI1 or 2 that we didn't notice?

 

I do remember that in MI1, when Shinetop caught him in Elaine's mansion, he picked up a vase (porcelain probably) and hit Shinetop with it.
