JediMod 1.2 and clients getting disconnected constantly!!!

Our server runs JediMod 1.2 and of late everytime somebody wins a match in duel mode players are getting disconnected.

 

Its only recently started doing this and can see no logical explanation for this as the config is unchanged from when it was working just fine.

 

Also the with JediMod running it is virtually impossible for people to connect while in Pure mode, why is this? Is this a common problem and does anyone know a solution to these questions?

Whenever you run a mod, if a client connects that does not have the mod the server will try to send it to them provided sv_allowdownload = 1

 

 

However if on the client machine cl_allowdownload != 1

 

Then the client wont download and they will show as being disconnected due to invalid pk3 etc.. etc..

 

For some damn blasted reason the default is off on the client side, and most peeps don't change it.

 

Thus you have lots of players trying all these great modded servers but wondering why they can't play. lol

a few things u need to look out for.

 

Pure mode is very fussy..

 

so if someone has a custom pk3 file say vader.pk3 (the hilt) the server will refuse connection as it does not have the hilt.

 

Pure is great for ensuring people do not have dodgy pk3 files etc.. but can proove awkward when potential users of your server have been adding custom files to there JO base dir.

 

I usually run my server without pure mode(i get far less complaints this way)

 

The only time I can see it really being needed is if you are running a competition thus wanting to ensure everyone is the same.

 

Check to see if your server has the inactivity monitor set and wat it is set to. If it is enabled it will boot unactive players after the set time.
