DrFred Posted August 26, 2002 Posted August 26, 2002 I decided posting here since none of the new creative drivers have seemed to help (even the brand new one that just came out yesterday). Basically whenever the game 'environment morphs' i.e. when I switch from, say, an echoey environment to an enclosed space with low reverb, my framerate basically goes down and the game stutters for a few seconds. I've tried using the latest OpenAL32.dll from the Creative CD and from the new drivers, and nothing seems to help. Any ideas?
Sith Maximus Posted August 26, 2002 Posted August 26, 2002 This is a common bug with those soundcards. I have never heard of a fix for this other than turning your eax off and using direct sound. I run a Hercules card myself and have had no problems.
