MattKG
Is there ANY POSSIBLE WAY to run a script in JK2 single player without compiling into a BSP? This would do wonders for NPC development.
Joben
well...since you can compile your own scripts imagine you can make new ones, name them the same as the ones used in the missions and use them instead. (bad sentance, did you follow that?) But good luck getting anything useful out of that. Try something simple like inserting the command for weapon altfire into a bunch of them and seeing if it works. jipe
Just use a small test level to get your scripts running, then adapt them to your real level once they're working fine.
MattKG
That's not my intent, my goal is to somehow control NPC that have been console-spawned with scripts.
Emon
In that case, no.
MattKG
Don't be too sure. I have several ideas, but I don't have too much time to work on them now. My main focus right now is finding out what people think my NPC manager. The more I dig into JK2 the more I find that you can do. For example, I have found a way to give custom saber hilts to NPCs in single player. Maybe this is obvious to some people, but I had never even considered it before. If i can just get a way to control some kind of script, we'll be able to almost completely customize NPCs, and I'll update the NPC manager as new breakthroughs are reached. I've already added features since the release that somehow slipped my attention. But I'm not releasing any updates until people start to give it some attention.
