Araegon
Considering the fact that i had already designed 6 saber hilts on paper, and am now using 3dmax and Rhino 3d at school to make models, i decided to start modeling my sabers. the first one is called Saurondrig. it was made with Rhino 3d in about 1 hour. the pictures are of just the top part of it, i havn't got around to making the rest yet. Saurondrig Renders considering this is my FIRST model, any help would be great!!! And please no replys telling me to use milkshape, 3dmax, or one of the other programs. Rhino is the only one i currently know how to use, however, i should know how to use 3dmax by next year the latest.
hawk_of_war
I would say "wow" but I see one thing that could be a blaring problem, it looks really poly intensive. You sure you are lower than the 1000 mark, especially when you only have the top done.
-Chrono_MOT-
Looks great, unfortunately you probably exceeded the vertex limit by quite a bit.

Araegon
sorry i havn't replyed, i couldn't get on to lucasfourms for about 2-3 days. newayz, about the polycount, considering this was my first model (and i didn't think it would end up being so good) i didn't really bother with changing it, and i just started with the default count. newayz, you can see the latest pics, up here: Jedi Knight II WIPs
Twisted Vertex
How in the world is the Fearless Jedi going to grip that bad boy. Poor bastard has to fight with that, lol.....anyways to the c@C, I like what you did with the textures, but the shaft looks so simple.
Araegon
yeah, i know it's simple. i currently working on a new version of the shaft that is a little like qui-gons. though, i admit, it is a lot harder to do that i thought.
hawk_of_war
I must say that it still looks good, but still looks like it is pushing past the game engine limitations.
