Shem
I recently had a run in with the creators of the JediPLUS mod. It was about Yoda's height. I tried to have an innocent friendly conversation through email about Yoda's height. They scaled it at 0.6. As you know that the default scale height is 1.0. That's Kyle's height and Kyle is about 6 feet tall. Now if you go to the official site of Star Wars, and go under the databanks, you will notice that Yoda is 0.66 meters, which is 2 feet 2 inches tall. That makes Yoda less then half the height of the other players. The scale of 0.6 puts Yoda over 3 feet tall. That is way off. The correct scaling height is 0.4. Now I told the creators about it and dysfunction@nyc.rr.com (BOFH) bit my head off. He told me that the 0.4 scale makes Yoda too short to kill. Personally I have had no problem killing Yoda at that height. It's a new challenge, but it can be done. It's obviously too hard for dysfunction@nyc.rr.com (BOFH) because of the lack of skill he has. All I tried to do is tell him the correct height of Yoda and he got mad. I just wanted all of you to know about it. I also wanted you to know that to have Yoda scaled at 0.4 is the correct height, not 0.6. Here is the email from dysfunction@nyc.rr.com (BOFH) I got today. <<The first problem is that 0.6 is the default minimum. Second, 0.4 makes yoda too small to fight realisticly.. Which is why they made the model to work at 0.6. LEAVE IT ALONE.>> Sorry for telling the facts. I guess it is too much of a challenge to fight Yoda at the correct height. Personally it takes skill. Does anybody have that skill?
EffJi
Here's the deal: You told him this once/sent him one e-mail. He may get 20 e-mails a day telling him that the yoda is scaled uncorrectly. And I don't know about you but I have always thought that a "minimum" is something you can't go under. It's the lowest there is. Did you try to play AS yoda? If they would scale his body right, it would be harder than it allready is to kill someone, fast, as yoda. People doesn't want to have minutelong duels, they want to have speed you don't want to wait for someone to try and kill a green little midget. How about saberlocks? Have you seen a screenshot with a player playing as yoda in a saberlock? It looks awful!! It'll look even worse if he's shorter.
Shem
Playing as Yoda isn't so difficult you can't make kills. I've done it. It can be done. The people that aren't skilled don't kill me very easy when I'm Yoda and just do circles around your opponent. All that can be done. Beat Yoda and be Yoda successfully at the correct height of 0.4. It truly takes skill to do it.
EffJi
Well, everyone might not have your skill when it comes to playing JO, how about them. Doesn't they deserve a chance to play the game without having to be afraid about the little green goblin comes running with his lightsabre. Don't get me wrong, I love playing as yoda (I even use the blue stance to fight like he does) but when you're playing with mod_skillmode 1 it's not really fun (since you only hit their legs and do no damage at all). The game isn't just about one person being the best in the world and everyone always losing to him, it's about having fun. And for the person that just found jedimod (or jediplus) and get's killed because they haven't played the mod very long it's not fun.
Lathain Valtiel
However, with mod_skillmode off a short Yoda is pretty much superior, since he can't be hit too well...
