has America attacled Iraq?

It has been one of the "normal" air attacs on military air defence systems in the zones in Iraq where Iraq is banned to fly.

The not so "normal" was the number of aircrafts involved, about 100 US and British in the attac.

The Ahfgan leader escaped unharmed, a local govenor slightly injured when a guard open fire towards their car. The guard was shot and killed by safety guards.

YAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY

I'm not gonna die...least not yet anyway

The reason why I asked was coz at my work there's this function thingie going on, and my boss had come running in saying "turn on the TV!!!!!! America bombed Iraq!!!!!!" which of course caused half the office to run off to computers to check news sites and all that

I think it's all the hype of September11, which of course is next week. I did find out that George Bush is gonna plead his case as to why Saddam Hussian must go at a UN gathering next week on September12 (which of course is one day after the first anniversary of the terrorist attacks)

I know this might sound either insensitive or really stupid but can someone please explain to my what is Americas sudden "lets kill Saddam Hussian" all of a sudden? Look I know there was all that crap with the gulf war blah blah blah, but really, Saddam has been sitting around happily not bothing anyone for 10years. Sure he's all evil and stuff, but if America attacks Iraq isn't Bush doing exactly what he's trying to fight against? Seems kind of hypocritical.

I don't want people to take this the wrong way, I'm just really confused and I really don't understand. Can someone please explain it to me? I don't want a reply to be one of those "Bush must attack Iraq because Saddam is an evil so and so" I just want an answer as to why

Grannen answers:

A short part of the reasons why Bush wants to start a new war.

He has marked Hussein as a "terrorist."

His idea to bomb Iraq is popular in the US.

He is supported by the “hawks” in the administration.

Members in the Government, the Congress, the Senate are bullied by the industries and manufactures of weapons, aircrafts, missiles, robots – you name it – they want to sell their latest versions of weapons since Operation Desert Storm.

He thinks that Saddam Hussein can make biologic weapons, perhaps building atomic bombs.

He has support only from Ahfganistan and Kuwait

Tony Blair, UK, doesn’t know what he should say about it.

All other countries says NO, he should not decide this by his own.

I don't think Australia wants to go to war with Iraq, so many people who've mentioned it have said that if we get involved we will most likely get attacked, since Saddam has said anyone who attacks Iraq will be attacked in defence.

I saw Sum of all Fears tonight (just got home) since it's only been out in Aus a week or so. All I could think about was imagine if it happened in real life. I didn't think it was very realistic though, come off it, a nuclear bomb has just blown up, killed Xamount of people, yet no one seemed to be suffering any form of radiation poisioning. Did I miss something? I know I'm not very bright sometimes but last time I checked

nuclear bomb=radiaton=mass distruction= lots of people killed and those who somehow survive will get lsick from radiation poisioning. I mean that no mad in the desert did, and yet Ben Affleck and so many other people were just happilly running around with no form of protective gear whatsoever yet he doesn't get radiation poisioning.

You saw Sum of all fears? You lucky!

I really wanna see it. And The Hunt for Red October. And Patriot Games. And Clear and Present Danger. Though I should read THfRO and PG first.

Tom Clancy uis the great author ever! So far I have read Clear and Present Danger, The Sum of All Fears, Rainbow Six, The Bear and the Dragon, am nearly at the end of Excecutive Orders, and have Without Remorse lined up for when I finish that.
