Mike Supafly Posted September 27, 2002 Posted September 27, 2002 In single player I start it up and the brightness is really low, so I attempt to raise it and it does not change until I fiddle with it for a while until it goes a bit higher and doesn't change. When in game and trying to change the gamma it gives me this error: SetDeviceGammaRamp failed. What the hell is up with that? I never had this problem until the first patch I think. But I'm not convinced that's the problem. I got this problem before with my old video card and with my new one, so I don't think that could be the problem. Anyone have any ideas?
Emon Posted September 27, 2002 Posted September 27, 2002 Try these: -COMPLETELY reinstall JO. This means do a normal uninstall, then remove the entire folder (backup mods and savegames first, and only those files). Reinstall and see if it helps. -Uninstall all your drivers for your video card with the Add/Rem programs thing in Control Panel. Then boot into safe mode. Do this by constantly tapping F8 before the Windows logo screen (you only need to hit it once at a certain time, but tapping is easier to ensure you don't miss it). Go into Device Manager (while still in safe mode) and remove ALL video devices that are non-monitor. So, any video cards you see, remove them. Don't worry, it's safe. Then reboot your PC normally and install the latest drivers for your card. The second one probably has a bigger chance of fixing it than the first. Hope that helps.
