Katarn07
Directed to Lundiquist. Will you be adding Williams's theme before the file you just gave us instead of a redone midi (which is good for the game, but not burning onto a CD)? Lundquist
well, I've tried as you suggested and added a real recording of the title at the beginning, though I used one that isn't performed by LSO. I also made some minor changes to the DF theme, there are still some changes that need to be done, I'm not entirely happy with the transition from orchestra to synth. anyway, if you want to give it a listen: http://www.angelfire.com/music4/gffrpg/DarkForces.mp3
MilesTeg
very very nice... I think (ok, I heard that music over and over...) that the transition is very well done. btw: great instruments!
Katarn07
I like the vocals (as faint as they are). It reminded me of TPM's Duel of the Fates. The one where Maul takes on Obi-Wan and Qui-Gon. I'll try out the new copy. *** The new one doesn't work for me. It's choppy. I'll try a second time. I'll give my opinion on it if I get it working... Still doesn't work. It's odd. Oh well, I'll just wait for you to finish it the way you planned on doing so.
Lundquist
thanks. I've uploaded it in another bitrate here: http://www.angelfire.com/music4/gffrpg/DarkForces1.mp3 this is in CBR 160, I know that some players (specially WMP has some problems with VBR mp3)
Katarn07
That is what I was using. Thanks! Also, I've PMed you about this project. Not sure if you don't check yours (I do once a week), so I emailed you via the button on these forums. *** Your site is suspended due to too much bandwith. I'd knock off one of those downloads to reduce it.... (leave the last one for those with WMP please)
Katarn07
Lundiquist - I got it. Very nice. I really like it. Just a thought on the transition (if you don't have a soulution yet), the synth starts up at 01:25, instead of having that, put in the movie's as well. It is the same music there. That is when the camera goes down in the movies. Then start up synth with the synth that starts at 01:40. That is the music that plays as the camera goes down in DF and you watch the Crow fly by. I'm sure you have a better solution and I'll just wait for you to finish it up.
Tzar Sectus
I just listened to that mp3 you posted, Lundquist, and I must say that sounds pretty darn good. I hope you're planning to release the soundtrack to the public when you're done, 'tis something I'd really like to hear the end result of. -Remi
Katarn07
Originally posted by Lundquist I'm also for original music instead of reusing williams score, great as it is, it's just overused. And, yes, I am redoing all of the music from the game, I've been working on making my own soundtrack for quite a while now. That answer your question, Tzar? I think it'd be neat to have that on the site once it is done too. I'd get both of them, probably burn Lundiquists to a CD, but the redone midi will be an excellent teaser for the mod. Can't wait for that either!
