taboo
MP JKIIRadiant FFA Map ---------------- I'd like to insert some volume lights into my map such as the one mentioned in this tutorial. Basically the tutorial says that you should apply the sfx/beam shader to the side of an object however I can't find this shader or anything similar. Is there a jk2 equivalent to the sfx/beam shader? Or do you go about making volume lights differently using jk2radiant (which I'm using). Any help would be very much appreciated.
taboo
I guess my answer lies here : D) That is an effect called a beam shader which was not included in JK2. You can[/] make one, but that will require either knowing how to write shaders or stealing one from RTCW or Q3A. I own RTCW and have located the appropriate shader but I'll be damned if I know how to use it. Is there an in-depth shader tutorial around anywhere? Shadriss
Actually, I had a set of them made for me by Whiteshdw. Easy to use. If you want'em give me and email at shadriss@hotmail.com and let me know. I'll send them and explain how to set them up. Note that they dont actually LIGHT the area... they make it LOOK as if it's being lighted. you'll still have to add spotlights for the full effect.
