SunBurN Posted October 10, 2002 Posted October 10, 2002 Does anyone know what this key does? Someone mentioned in another thread that it helps fps when you look in a direction that would be considered a long distance in a large map. That is my basic problem. I've tried blocking vis by putting a structural wall in the middle to completely seperate the map in to two sides, but it didn't make a difference. If anyone knows how to solve this problem or knows what Distancecull does, please let me. Thanks, SunBurN
WhiteShdw Posted October 14, 2002 Posted October 14, 2002 I read the same thing as you. I think they said you have to combine it with a fog for it to work, but i'm not sure. So try adding a fog value to your worldspawn.
monsoontide Posted October 14, 2002 Posted October 14, 2002 Distance Cull is where polygons beyond a certain distance aren't drawn! (Play any FPS on an Nintendo 64 to see what I mean or turn on cubic clipping in RADIANT for the same effect) Has to be combined with a sort of general distance fog to hide the fact polygons aren't being drawn in the far distance. I have no idea how to activate this in JK2 though! Monsoontide.
