War Master
Everytime I make a sky box with terragen the sky turns out "swirly". Everything else looks great except the sky. The only solution I know is to mask it with clouds. Is there a way to have a clear sky without all those circles?

Leslie Judge
Shadyz I don't think you can render a beautiful skybox in JK2Radiant. It is a bit out of it's profile. War Master, how do you set up the rendering properties? Tere is a settings... button above Render Image button, if I remember. You can set the accuracy. It will increase your renedering time. I'm at work now. In the evening I can try something. I'll let you know what the results are.
lassev
This is a problem that has been and still is a nuicance to me too. What comes to the settings, I have all set to maximum, except the resolution, which is 700x700 (from 007's tutorial). I don't remember just how high you can set it without the registered version, but 700x700 (scaled to 1024x1024 with PSP) should be enough. Well, maybe it isn't, as it is the only thing to do anything differently for me, as changing JPG packing efficiency, which was my natural first suspect for degeneration, had no effect what so ever in the final picture in the game. But if you, War Master, have used higher resolution with same troublesome results, then it would spare me (and my Athlon) some useless work. WhiteShdw
I used 1024 * 1024 for my naboo skybox and it had the same problem. It's not such a big deal because it's only in a small part of the map that you actually see the sky. But the problem lies probably with the engine itself. It seems to downsample the colors used in the pictures with causes the effect. I'm thinking of decreasing the color amount of the pictures in photoshop and see what happens. War Master
I crank up all the settings for best results. I've done some good tuts for terragen. I've made hoth, mars and desert skyboxes. They all look great except for the sky. I've noticed even Raven's demo skybox has this problem but not as bad. The clouds seem to mask all the circles. I'm going to try Bryce 5 and see what it can do.
