SavageJedi
Ok I share a computer with my brother, and the game. He has way different key configs than I do, and its really making me mad that he continues to change my keys for screenshots to have his little chat message : "I'll cut off your lil' pp" I've tried making a completely different folder, one for me, one for him, just to find that it didnt solve crap. SkinWalker told me that I could create my own .cfg file and just execute that everytime I got on after my brother had been on. And that would save me from having to invert the mouse and switch umpteen different keys around in the Control settings, and NOW I have to rebind all my animations and screenshot keys! I am not good at scripting at all, and SkinWalker told me to come here to find a helper .cfg file that I could go off of. But I havent found it, and.... speak of the devil, I HAVE TO GO now so I can let my bro's lil' pansy arse on. Any help would be greatly appriciated. Darth Vader III
Possibility 1 and 2 1. In your gamedata/base folder you have a jk2conifg.cfg and a jk2mpconfi.cfg just after youve reset the controls for your own you save the game. Then you copy/zip/rar the .cfg and voila! Every time you see you'r brother's been gaming you just use your old .cfg file to make the controls your own again. 2. You talk with your brother about this. SavageJedi
Uh..... I'm confuzzled... so what you aer saying is that I should just put the .cfg into a .zip, and after he's been playing, I should just unzip it into the base folder and run the game? SkinWalker was talking about creating his own or something and then typing in console /exec <name>.cfg Where <name> is the name of the file. If I dont have to create my own, couldnt I just put that .cfg file into a subfolder and then access it by the /exec command in the Console? Darth Vader III
Do this: Take jk2config(mp).cfg after YOU played and saved the game. Copy it and rename it to "something".cfg (you decide the name) Put it in your gamedata/base folder. Take autoexec.cfg open it with a notepad/wordpad/microsoft word. Or if you don't have a autoexec.cfg yet make a autoexec.doc and open it Write below the last line like this exec "something".cfg Rename the .doc to .cfg file. And when you start the game you should have your keys. If that doesn't work then do this: Have the "something".cfg in your gamedata/base folder. Ingame bring down the console (shift ~) and write in there: "exec "something".cfg" Now you should have your own keys! So that should work. If these don't work just post me. Tchouky
-Just configure the controls. -quit the game. -copy jk2mpconfig.cfg to mycfg.cfg -launch the game -ask your brother to configure his controls. -quit the game -copy jk2mpconfig.cfg to brother.cfg and when you play just bring down the console : shift + ~ and type : exec mycfg.cfg if you are playing. or type exec brother.cfg if your brother is playing it's simple ..
