Miss_Stalker
Shadriss and Takeoffyouhoser you guy shelped me with elevators a while back, dont know if you still remember me but i've got probs again I cant find the ref function so I couldnt go thru your method Takeoffyouhoser Shadriss, yours worked but the prob is now is that it only works if you hit the button. It wont activate if you step on it. for anyone else who wants to help my original post and question was: Map Multiplayer program being used GTKRadiant I've been trying to make these damn elevators for 5 months but haven't learned anything! Well the elevators work but I'm trying to do something more complex, so if anyone of you is good with lifts, please help me. ok heres the deal, I made a func_plat and did all the settings for it, its working all good and fine. Now what I am trying to do is that make a button that would bring the elevator up when it is clicked. So i made a brush, made it a func_button and selected the elevator and the button and then hit ctrl + k. The button works but it doesnt bring the elevator up! What am I doin wrong? Please explain it to me as I'm slow oh and I've checked several tutorials including the boba one but I cant get it thru my head. heres a pic of that part if it helps http://www.itsmysite.com/queen/images/cargo2.jpg the thing in the air lol is the button which is linked to the lift (its raised as im supposed to make it like that) Now I got this tutorial http://richdiesal.jedioutcastmaps.c.../br201lsn7.html but it still wont work after tryin it. I think I'm doing something wrong and I can't find that FACING button he is talking about. ANyone know????
Shadriss
Wow. Called by NAME even. Not sure if that's a good thing or not... In order to do the call button like we discussed last time, ,you have to give up the automatic activation at the bottom. Essentially, you'll make a second button at the bottom to give it a start. Best way to do it is just like the one at the top with a SMALL differance. Have the trigger_multiple target a target_delay, and have the delay target the elevator. Give the target_delay a wait value of two or three seconds, to give your player time to move from the switch to the elevator. If you need it more detailed, let me know. Takeoffyouhoser
just to follow up so my reply didn't seem a bit blunt.. I only work on my level for about 30 minutes a day at most. I'm usually too tired or find other things to do instead of work on it. i'm going to make a few elevators in my map, and the tutorial i gave you is going to be used there, so i hope you can get it straightened out.
