DragonLord{CW}
Good evening, I am a long time Macintosh game player and I have run into a snag with the Demo version of Jedi Knight II located here: http://www.aspyr.com/mini-sites/jk2/ In essence, the game will start-up ok when loading the main menu, but will stop loading and hang 2/3's through the progress bar before I get a chance to play. Any suggestions? Because if I can get this demo version to work, I must certainly will buy the full game so I can play online with my buddies at GameRanger. Thank you. David3k
MACs are not gaming platforms get a rigged pc with theese specs: Intel P4 @ 3 Ghz(o/c it to 3.1 if possible), nVida GF4 Ti42000 (o/c to past 4600), 2 gigs RDRAM, generic sound card, and WinXP Pro. that should hold you for 1.5 years without a problem. I bought an Apple PC with MAC OS X, and It just kept on crashing on me after an hour of use. MACs make great laptops, since I don't do heavy work on them. For your desktop, you'd best get a PC. DragonLord{CW}
Thank you for your comment, but my question was related to having my Demo game work for my Mac. If anyone has a related reply to my original question, please post it here. Thank you. Dragon Lord {CW}
Emon
Yeah, David3k, he's asking for help about his Mac, not about why PCs are better. Macs can be gaming platforms. It's the software that must be made for it, it has nothing to do with the hardware.
Emon
All I can say for your problem is that corrupted files might cause it...Redownloading and reinstalling is my only suggestion.
David3k
I don't think I mentioned why PC's are better. I can if you want me to. Can you install more memory?
Emon
I do agree, I like PCs a lot more, but Macs are certantly good, too.
David3k
Ok. now with that settled...you can try getting more memory if it stops loading.
Smithcraft
Greetings, I would recommend reducing your graphics options. I had the same problem with my Voodoo4, and reducing the texture quality and bit depth, were the only things that helped. Increasing the memory allocation, or upping the VM amount did not help. Good luck! SC
Emon
I'm not sure if it does anything in SP, but try this in the console: seta com_hunkmegs xx Where xx is the amount of RAM. 2/3 of your system RAM should be good.
