DISorder
Sorry guys, I know its annoying when people post the same question on 3 different forums, but I cant find the ones that say why it is that when I walk on some of my textures it sounds like im walking on water!! How do I fix this?!! obviously its annoying and just...dumb...but what did I do wrong? I know i've seen this asked before but I couldnt find the thread and the search feature is shut off... Thanks guys
Takeoffyouhoser
i never had this problem, but, from what i remember you need to make a VERY thin brush over the affected area. then, apply the clip brush to this. i'm pretty sure that this is the solution. WhiteShdw
It's a problem that comes from using some shaders. Somehow the MP engine thinks those shaders represent water and plays the water sound when you walk on them. And you can fix it the way Takeoffyouhoser said. Or you can make a custom texture based on the texture that the shader uses.
Khaza
or you can remove all "metalsteps" from shader files (*\GameData\base\shaders) and run bsp process, it's really that simple ...but remeber to backup files if you want to create sp maps
The Truthful Liar
The easiest way for myself was to add a small clip brush on top of wherever the shader was.
Fettt-Disorder
The thing i found was that when i had that problem it was because i made the brush into an entire texture instead of making it caulk then texturing the one side. its not that hard of a thing to fix.
