Load game freeze

Apart from my slow load times, which I suppose is a detail-set-too-high issue, I can never reload a game after a die or load a second time after I start the game; after the first, I'm done. The load bar at most gets a fourth of the way and stops.

I have a Voodoo3 w/ the most recent drivers- any hope for me here?

I've recently found this problem as well after upgrading my machine.

 

Try setting your colour depth and texture details to 16bit instead of 32bit

Also, try cutting back some of the detail texture settings to medium/low, and see if that helps. and see if setting the resolution to 800x600 in-game helps.
