Red Nine Posted November 25, 2002 Posted November 25, 2002 Hey all. Just bought XWA after playing the demo and seeing it on sale for cheap. I've played all 3 previous games, with the sole exception of the XvT expansion pack - names elude me. I'm about halfway through the campaign on Easy (more interested in the story than the challenge right now) and I'm loving every minute. Just saw the Executor for the first time... YOW! Talk about post-jump shock! My faves so far are the X-Wing (duh) and both YT's. Having those turrets is a GODSEND on some missions! Anyways, got a coupla n00b questions for ya. 1: I've heard it's possible to play as a capital ship. Is this possible (in single-player) without going into the game files? 2: I enabled "Invulnerability" just for kicks, but still took hits on my shields. Is this right? Thanks for any help.
Keyan Farlander Posted November 25, 2002 Posted November 25, 2002 1. You have edit the game files (or download something that does it for you). 2. Yes. You should try Balance of Power (the XvT expantion). It made XvT fairly good for single player.

And could you kindly point me to the link for this program that does it for me? Believe me, I'd love to try Balance of Power, but I can't find it ANYWHERE around here anymore. Can't get it off Kazaa either.
Keyan Farlander Posted November 25, 2002 Posted November 25, 2002 I don't know exactly what you mean by "single-player." If you mean in the single-player campaign, then I think you'd have to edit the missions themselves. You can use them in the combat simulator much more easily. I may be wrong about this, as I never edit games. In any case, check http://www.xwlegacy.net - you should be able to find everything you need there. As for Balance of Power, you can get it off eBay for five bucks.

I WANT that Corellian Gunship! As for Ebay, I don't have a credit card and wouldn't use it if I did.

Red Nine Posted November 28, 2002 Author Posted November 28, 2002 If it's here, I can't see it. What's the name? How big? WHERE is it? What's involved in the editing? I swapped "BWING" and "CORELLIANGUNSHIP" in the FLIGHTMODELS folder, but all it gave me was a B-Wing with a lot of weaponry.
Admiral Odin Posted November 28, 2002 Posted November 28, 2002 look for a text file named shiplist (something like that) change all the nonflyable to flyable. (or nonplayable to playable)
