Takeoffyouhoser
I don't use photoshop, but a clone that came with XP. I am making a grayscale heightmap and need it to be smudged to create a natural effect in elevation. My only problem is, I seem to have pits in my terrain when its generated. this usually occurs at the base of a hill... Does anyone know how to smudge an image perfectly so this won't happen ? Also, if someone good at smudging will smudge my heightmap properly, i'd greatly appreciate it too..
Emon
Just use a standard gaussian blur filter. You should also get a good paint program. The GIMP is a very powerful, but completely free image editor for Linux and Windows. It lacks a lot of the stuff newer versions of Photoshop has, but it also has a lot that Photoshop doesn't. Great program, go try it!
