seks03
is it better to over lap brushes or use CSG subtract? even if its a complicated subtract. thanks guys
Tigris
Theoratically both can mess up your map- so best is to remodel the brushes so that they match- without being substracted. The more complex the brushes are going to be the more you should think about remaking them by hand.
lassev
Aye. I think nobody is leaving overlapping brushes purposefully. CSG subtract is perfectly good for simple brushes or even semi-simple, if you know what you are doing by experience. However, the results should always be checked and overlapping areas removed (if you want to be professional... Not that I would be...).
Takeoffyouhoser
CSG Subtract is a good tool when trying to build structure into generated terrain. It worked wonders for me!! I always make stuff by fitting brushes together to make whatever i am making. CSG subtract is really not needed for normal mapping stuff.
