OpenGL error. (Please read and do not judge by subject)

First and foremost, I read the FAQ on Lucas Art's site. I have the same OpenGL subsystem error as a lot of people reported. And I know that my 41.09 drivers for my GEForce 4 chipset should run it. I asked this question on a different site, http://www.neowin.net, and others have said that they got the game to work with the 41.09 drivers.

However, it does not work. I thought the drivers were the issue and nothing else. So, I read the part about dual monitors. My laptop has three monitors listed in Device Manager, two Default ones and a Plug and Play entry. I disabled the two default ones and left the Plug and Play enabled and it still did not work.

I do not see an option for 3d hardware turned up in the DX screen under help. Maybe that's because I have DX 9 installed? Does the game work with DX9?

I apologize for beating a dead horse here, but when the FAQ doesn't answer your question, I like to ask others in the forums. And I do not want to return this game as I've heard many good things about it.

In case you are wondering, my specs are

Toshiba laptop

p4 1.7 GHz

512 MB Ram

GeForce 4 440 chipset

40 GB HDD

DVD/CDRW combo

DX9

41.09 Detonator drivers

Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

Brian

*bump*

I updated to the newest non-WHQL beta drivers that are available, 42.01, and am still getting the error.

What would anyone recommend for a 3x.xx series of drivers? Another interesting thing I noticed was that I could not run a different game in opengl. But, I've been able to run UT 2003 in opengl, so I'm confused.
