Haplo781
My framerate keeps bouncing around-- anywhere from 14 to 60 FPS-- and it's VERY disorienting. I have no idea what's causing this. System specs to the best of my knowledge are: CPU: Athlon 1.1 GHz Video Card: Riva TNT2 chipset Audio Card: Aureal Vortex 2 chipset Hard Drive: 60 GB/2MB buffer Maxtor Motherboard: ECS Elitegroup K7S5A CD-ROM Drive: 50x generic RAM: 128 MB SDRAM Monitor: Mag Innovision Speakers: Altec Lansing model 220 Other components: 100 MB Zip drive I've tried turning down some of the video settings, but it just makes the fastest framerate faster- it still slows down and speeds up constantly and randomly. Haplo781
Okay, I've experimented a bit and found that what REALLY kills the framerate is going into the *SPOILER* area in the mining level where there's a power droid walking around and a chamber beyond that where a hoversledge is transporting materials, and there's a blast of red energy that fries you alive if you're inside at the time. This consistently drops my framerate down to about 8-11. Anywhere else, and it runs at about 40-59, but with an annoying random yo-yo effect that brings it as low as 25 and then back up again. It's having a serious impact on my ability to play the game.
Andy867
You May want to try updating your video card drivers and your version of DirectX. Also, 128MB for Jedi Outcast is considered by most, especially the SDRAM, to be the bare minimum, especially if you are running a Riva TNT2 chipset. You can go to http://www. nvidia.com and look under the downloads/drivers section to find the most recent version.
