Silverhawk2000
Hello All, Just wondering how many people play Multiplayer with some sort of Real-Time Voice communication utility running in the background. Playing MP with Real-Time Voice has added a whole new dimension to my games. Now I can taunt my friends or co-ordinate movements in Team FFA. Lot's of fun. Just wondering what other people are using and how it has been working for them. So far I have used MSN to start a 2-way, but attempts with Net-Meeting to start a 3-way have not been successfull. I will have to get the latest version and try again. I have looked for other Voice over IP software and found some others that I will try soon. In my list of ones to look at are Roger Wilco http://rogerwilco.gamespy.com/ TeamSpeak http://www.teamspeak.org/index.php Background Communicator http://bcom.freehosting.net/ If you know of others I can check out, please reply to this post. Thanks in advance. Cheers and Happy Gaming, Christopher
Unnamed Jed1
That stuff rocks for team based games. TeamSpeak is a lot better than RW but a little more confusing for the first time users. Never seen that third one though.
adillon
there's also GAME VOICE ... the share version works just as well as the full version. it runs through msn messenger, but for those non-XP users, you must have msn 4.7 (it will not work with msn 5.0). and don't be turned-off by the contraption shown on the website ... you don't need that to use it either. Silverhawk2000
Well, I tried Roger Wilco and Team Speak last night. Roger Wilco is ok if you like Walki-Talkies but personally I find that Ktssssssht sound it makes very annoying. Team Speak on the other hand is very nice. It has a Server and a Client The person who runs the server also has to run the client (to connect with the others). Also, it has a cool female voice - tells you when you connect, when others disconnect. Very cool. Have not tried the 3-way with Team Speak yet but i am hoping that it will perform fine. About the RW walkie sound, there is an option to disable that under one of the tabs.

Thanks for the Info Rad, RW looks like it works ok (Millions of people have downloaded and presumably use it) I still prefer Team Speak, I love the interface. As a programmer I appreciate the amout of development work that went into Teamspeak. You can select the CODEC you want for the voice transmission, etc. Lots of ways to tweek things depending on the speed of your connection, etc... razorace
I personally like Battlecom. It's VERY bandwidth thrifty. I can even use it on a dial up while MW4ing.
