There is much more to any of these games than the engine.

 

Return to Castle Wolfenstein, Star Trek Voyager Elite Force, and Jedi Knight II: Jedi Outcast all use the Quake III engine. But the maps are not interchangable.

 

RTCW supports swinging doors, the other two do not. JKII supports force powers, the other two do not. See a pattern?

 

The engine is just a starting point for creating these games.

 

Although a total conversion could probably develop some sort of hybrid, that would be best discussed in another forum.
