Flying Beastie
Because TFs is only one of my many interests. Besides, Kero fits my current online persona (irreverent, wise, a powerful sorceror, but in an unassuming, airborne form). Originally posted by Jem That sounds like there's a cool story behind it, I'm curious for details... As are we all actually. We've only seen prototype pics up on American Dream Comics. This page is a little old though, by now we know his name (the other guy on the page is called Hoist), and that his minicon will be a jet called Windsheer (no, not Windshear; apparently the little guy's into drapery or something ) Presumeably he'll make his appearance in the next "season" (due to start sometime this summer), as the toy is slated for an April/May release. Ding! That's who/what it was. Incidentally, I was once wounded by a Scorponok toy a friend of mine had when I was little. He bit me. Thanks for identifying this Arctic Camo Ruination. It shall go on my list of things to try to locate, right after the new Teela. I pass up toys I want all the time and then spend MONTHS or even years searching for one before I find it. Last night, I found the Easterling figure from the Two Towers I'd been looking for since late december. It took me two and half years to find a destroy droid years back. And thanks for ID'ing that episode. I think its my favorite because it's the only one I remember at all.
Jem
The episode I remember best was the one with that human woman who had a crush on one of the Autobots. Weird stuff.

Jem
HOLY F*** I just saw The Transformers Movie! THEY ALL DIE AND ARE ALWAYS IN CONSTANT SH**!! This movie answers loads of question because when I saw season 2 then 3 I never saw the movie, I was always like "Where is Optimus Prime? Why is this guy Hot Rod the Boss now? Who the hell is Galvatron? Where's Megatron? What's with this base in a shape oh a head?" Every thing is so clear now! The fact that the killing starts right in the beginning of the movie is a slap in the face. Optimus Prime DIES! This is so SHOCKING! I can't begin to imagine the emotional shock all those kids must have had when they saw that dramatic scene, I bet there was loads of tears. I am still in shock, I think I would have killed myself if I saw that movie when I was a kid. Optimus Prime...
Flying Beastie
Note the 20-year gap between S2 (1985) and TFTM/S3 (2005). A lot has happened. The deaths are pretty jarring. Hasbro wanted to reboot the line, so they essentially ordered the movie crew to kill off most of the discontinued molds (Screamer, Optimus, Megatron, Ratchet, ironhide, Wheeljack, most of the minibots, etc), and introduce a new slew of characters. What annoys me is that the deaths are so gratuitous. I mean, everywhere else in the canon, we see TFs getting blasted into smithereens and rebuilt with no ill effects. Now suddenly we have "one-shot-deaths" all over the place. Brawn goes down after getting hit in the shoulder. The shoulder!!! My personal idea is that those "deaths" are mostly just stasis-locked and repaired later. In Beast Wars, we learn that critical structural damage will usually send a TF into a state between unconsciousness and a coma. It's only if the stasis-lock is disrupted/aborted consciously by the TF [allowing them to keep fighting past their "limit"] does the spark go offline. This is sort of borne out in one of the Japanese series (Headmasters, which is set after S3), which shows Wheeljack in a few background scenes (after his dead body is seen in the movie). It's also bolstered by the fact that Arcee takes time to dig out Windcharger and drag him to safety, despite the fact that he's unresponsive (she puts him right next to Wheeljack in fact, as though she's setting up a triage-line). Which version did you see? The one I have has the infamous "Sh*t, what do we do now?!?" line. For an even more entertaining version of TFTM, check out the BotCon '98 MST3K. Or possibly the older (but annotated) BotCon '97 version. Originally posted by Flying Beastie S1 & 2 (i.e., G1.1) are the only ones out so far. S3 should come out in by the end of the school year (we're all hoping). I just found out that I've been leading you wrong, BTW. Sets out now are S1, and S2 Part 1. S2 part2 is slated for a late April release. Primus only knows when S3 will show up. We're also not sure what they plan to do with The Rebirth; it aired as "S4" in the US, but it's only four episodes long --not enough to make a full DVD worthwhile. I'm thinking they may package it with The Return of Optimus Prime; as those two arcs kinda dovetail (with Rodimus/Hot Rod's inner circle/entourage getting effectively kicked back into the rank-and-file when Optimus comes back ). What kind of other versions are there? The opening scene with the 80's Metal version of the TF song rocks.
Flying Beastie
As far as the fandom can tell, there are three variables: * A Star Wars-like opening crawl. * Spike's swearing (censored in the second video release, then restored for the third [the official video/DVD release]). * A closing narration prophesying "the return of the Greatest Autobot of all Time" (Prowl, obviously ). Added late in the run, after Hasbro started getting understandable backlash for killing of that big red guy. This makes for at least six different versions bouncing around. The whole situation is complicated in that the version released in the UK (which contains about a third of the Transfan community) was the revised version (with the opening crawl and the closing narration). Flying Beastie
And in Armada news, Hasbro recently had it's big annual Toy Fair Thing, and among the releases is: An unfortunately coloured Wheeljack: And, for those of you who've been watching the show, does Hot Shot's personality kinda remind you of anyone? Say, someone from G1? If you're gonna ride, Danno, ride in style!
Jem
I checked Music World for the episodes, they don't have'em anymore but HMV has a sh*tload of them, Season 1 and 2. But they're expensive though.
