Badger343rd
I see theres alot of editing being done on this game..but i'm wondering if anyone has been able to change the padlock defaults as yet? what im looking for is, the ability to padlock in external view, like in most flight sims, and also be able to padlock with out the box around the target...anyone working on this aspect as yet?...Also...is it possible to extend the flyby view time length too longer scenes before it switches camera view?... the reason for this is to get the opportunity to view your craft in combat...similular to the movie scenes...but WHILE IN COMBAT.Ideally an external combat padlock would do it though IMO.Anyone working on this? General_Trageto
The problem is the source code. Unlike for Jedi Outcast and such, XWA has no published source code. There are some people trying to ckack the code, but each step forward causes two steps back due to new problems that occurr. There'd be a lot stuff that I'd like to change for my imperial hangar(e.g. imperial fighters, shutle not turning right, when launching.)
Badger343rd
mmmmm...too bad...it would have probably kept this game alive...alot of people don't like that enclosed feeling you get in cockpit...and really want to see it as if it were in a movie...ie ...watching the dogfight...but being the dogfighter at the same time....strange they didn't see this while creating the game in the begining???...i think most people relate to the perspective of the 3rd person view...as if they were watching it on tv....or at an airshow....having the ability to switch between the 2....from external to internal padlocklock (with out the box) would have given it a real dynamic to the fight IMO...the same way i fight in most flight sims...it also allows you to appreaciate the 3d graphic artwork more as well....again my opinion. General_Trageto
I think one reason could also be that the game is actualy not finished. There are several aspects of the game that raise the suspicion that LA has given TG a deadline, which they couldn't fulfill. When the deadline was over, LA just took the unfinished game and published it. This could be a reason, why the game has so many feature lacks and there's no source code. Flying Beastie
Or actual ending.
^Invader
could also be why you can add alot of custom missions after the BoE missions. Someone found like alot of opts that had nothing in the game itself. Don't worry im just rambling on.
General_Trageto
Right. There are several OPTs that don't appear in the game, e.g. the wrecked Nebulon B Frigate, the wrecked Corvette, the second tug etc. You may have also recognized, pushing N will cause a warning 'Your craft does not have a SLAM system', Seen in TIE Fighter, There obviously wasn't the time left to implement it into XWA. I'm not very convincible of the effects of petitions, but I'd be first to sign one that requests LA and TG to release the source code(if this petition(s) hasn't been put already)
^Invader
I would second that G_T
