Darth Talliusc Posted February 23, 2003 Share Posted February 23, 2003 many of you may know that my little corner of ontario (southern ontario that is) had a nasty icestorm back in 98. what happened then was freezing rain in such quantities that the branches of the trees weighed too much for the trees holding them, and fell right off. several trees fell over on power lines and houses and as a result we had no power for nearly 2 weeks. now its happened again. we havent lost power yet but i wont be surprised if we do. our street is blocked off beccause theres a great big maple lying across it. its a beatiful sight to see everything around you with an inch thick layer of ice on it. crystallyzing it, making it shine..... cold as all hell though. three trees in my front yard that stood in a line now are all bent over to form a perfect arch. im going to take some pictures today and within a few days after that ill try and get em posted up here. its like something out of a book. Darth Talliusc Posted February 23, 2003 Author Share Posted February 23, 2003 ahaahah, i guess it does shock. i just got in from shovelling the driveway, angry that my snowblower wont handle this flippin ice. you literally have to chisel everything before you can shovel it. my next door neighbour lost power, im just praying mine stays up. still no word on moving that tree thats laying across the street. i hope my bro gets home safely. hes driving to hamilton today, and id hate to be on the highway on this. *starts nervously worrying* well i think ill go take some pictures of the trees.
