console input gone screwy

Hello all, I am playing jedi knight 1.3 on windows 2000

 

I have been playing without ANY problems for a while.

 

When I enter a game I first normally open the console and do

"/model reborn/fencer" to select the fencer model

then I say

"Hi all" and join the game

 

Today I must have hit a setting by accident, as when I typed "hi all" I got

 

"unknown command hi" and I didn't have the / infront of it

if I type in random letters ie s or t etc etc I get "unknown command t" as thought I had typed /t

 

my console prompt is now [ ??? which I am sure it never used to be. My old config used to allow me to type anything in the console and it would come up as chat now it takes everything I type as a command even without the /

 

Any advice / help

 

any one know whats going on ??

Type /say hi all instead, since the command say is the same as pressing a key binded to messagemode. If you type i it usually comes up with unknown command. So typing /say before helps.

good advice, but something has certainly changed in my config in that I can type for example taunt NOT /taunt in the console and in treats it as /taunt and taunts
