mandy
Hello, is there a way in Galactic Battlegrounds to play the sound effects outside the game in a media player? I can play the terrain sounds etc. but am wanting to get at the effects for such things as gates opening, shipyard etc. Would appreciate any help.... swphreak
ooooh a new person, maybe we should do a welcome thing like Wraith does. Maybe that'll attract people... anywho, I went to my Galactic Battlegrounds directory >> Game >> Sound. That's all I can think of. There are 4 more files inside of sound. And they have a bunch of sound files. According to my computer, they're MPEG Audio. btw, Welcome to GB.com Forums! There are probably rules around here somewhere, and you should read them. I wonder what will happen when Wraith sees this?
Praetorian
I don't really have an answer beyond what Phreak said, but I still wanted to say welcome to LucasForums and Galactic Battlerounds Forums!!! :D :D

Sithmaster_821
Welcome to GB.com Frums! As you can tell we aren't the greatest of spellers here:D As for your question, the answer is no. I went looking for the sounds one day and they aren't anywhere. I'm not sure if you can even extract them.

CorranSec
Aargh! I wrote up a whole big welcome thing. But it didn't post. Damn, damn, damn... Anyway, we should come up with some kind of a welcome someday. It'd make the n00bs feel more at home.

lmeunier
Hi there, I think I get the solution for you, to find the sounds. It's just a coincidence that I found it, I was looking for where the music was stored ... You can find a tool (freeware) that extracts any sound that it can find from many kind of files : http://www.gameburnworld.com/hotgametools.htm It is called "Game audio player". Use the "scan files" function to scan files named like sounds_.dxr or something like that, I don't remember exactly, just check under Program Files/Lucas art and so on, where the game is installed. The tool will tell you when it finds sounds or not, it's all auto. While it scans, the tool will extract all the small sounds effect you can hear in the game, and there are thousands of them !! Then you just hear it, and save it ... Hope it helps Laurent
