dekerd
Hey guys, I'm doing a map called "City Street" and it's basically a modern day street (go see it in the showcase forum). I'm doing interiors as well as exteriors. I've created a movie theater, pretty large, great lighting but with lots of seats (close to 100 I think). But with about 3 brushes per seat, it creates a problem. Slowdown. When that part of the map is shown, there is some lag. So, is there a way to keep all those seats, but eliminate lag. I've made them all detail brushes, and I'd like to keep them for the look of the theater, but if it slows down gameplay, is it worth it?
Emon
What do you get when you put in r_speeds ! into your console (enter again to turn it off)? It could be within acceptable limits, but your system maybe can't handle it.
dekerd
What does that "r_speeds !" do exactly? Or is it "r_speeds"?
dekerd
Ok, I checked the FPS and around the theater I built it's around 20fps. Is that acceptable?
