Goo Child
I'm trying to start making levels and I've done some pretty crappy ones. The questions I'm about to ask will tell you just how much of a newbie I am. 1. how can I make two rooms connected by a door? (when I try the door moves but there is wall behind the door.) 2. how can I put more than one texture on the same surface? 3. how can make lifts? thanks
Darth berserker
1- I don't really understand can you take a screenie from radiant? 2- You can only have one texture per face, if that's what you mean. 3- Search the forums, and I'm sure you will find something. dvader28
1- ok, there are a couple of ways of doing this, but the simplest way is to use CSG Subtract...make two rooms, with the walls touching. Now make another brush that will be your door. Make sure it doesn't intersect with the floors. Draw it so it's "inside" the two wall brushes, and it's width is the same as the two walls put together. With your door selected, press the CSG subtract button. It's on the toolbar, hover the mouse over...the icon is a square with dotted lines in it. This has cut a hole where your door is. Now make the door brush slightly narrower so you can see a lip, then make it a door as normal. 2. Not easily 3. I can't be bothered to explain The best thing to do is go here: http://richdiesal.jedioutcastmaps.com/tutorials/ These tut's will get you started on all the basics....have fun
