Hekx Posted March 24, 2003 Share Posted March 24, 2003 If you want to host a game: Do you have a server.cfg with all your settings for the server in? This may help with the settings. If you don't want to host a game with jk2mp.exe It seems like you've set the server to dedicated. RCON commands tell the server to do something. First, if you have a mod you want to run the server on, you're going to want to work with all of your server's configs in the mods' folder. If you don't want to run a mod, all of your configs go into your /JK2/GameData/base/ folder. Configs, short for configurations, tell the server what to load, and what game settings to use. First off, you're going to want to make a "server.cfg". All server configs have the .cfg extension. Take the link that Hèkx Nòxú posted and look at it for a moment. The only major server config your going to need is your server.cfg Now, I can't setup your server for you because I don't know what game settings you want. Scroll down that page that he posted and find where it starts the server.cfg settings, copy and paste that into notepad, and save it in your base or mod folder as server.cfg If you want to modify the default game settings you'll need to learn the RCON commands... http://www.gameadmins.com Now, make a shortcut to jk2mp.exe located in your JK2/GameData/ folder, and place it preferrably on your desktop. Right click the shortcut and open it's properties. Now look where it says Target and then the path to jk2mp.exe. If you're running a mod place this after the end quotation: +set fs_game modname Replace modname with the name of the folder where your mod is located. If you don't want a mod, ignore it and don't place that in. Now, to tell JK2 what game settings you want for the server place this after the end quotation: +exec server.cfg Now, apply these settings, launch that shortcut and start your server.
