Mathurin
Hi I'm interested in starting moding. I'm not quite an artist, so skinning and making maps isn't my stuff but I love coding. I've little knowledge in C ++ (I lack experience but I got the basics) and I'd like to try a bit of coding in jk2, but I'll need a good tutorial for that. What I'd like to learn is making menus, changing weapon effects and force powers, adding new items (like the jetpack), that kind of stuff. but I might start with just cvars. does anybody know a good jk2 specific tutorial on that topic ? Commodus
You've come to the right place. JK2 specific tutorials are not numerous, but there are some at the Dark Side Compendium. General Q3A coding tutorials (most of which are probably applicable to JK2 because the code is very similar) can be found at Code 3 Arena and at the Q3 Hut. Mathurin
thx for the links =) What I'm afraid of in the quake tutorials is that there's no sword in quake for example.. so erverything related to sabers won't be explained (moves, etc..). and jedi 2 must also have specific cvars that you won't find info about on a quake site... Another question : where can I find a list of all the cvars in JK2 ? any link aviable ? EDIT : ok I read the beginning of the tutorial and I'll wipe the dust from my quake III box to start coding with it =) I'll keep this topic alive if I need more information =) thanx again =)
