riguitargod Posted May 3, 2003 Posted May 3, 2003 so i just first put the cd in, and it thinks the game's installed.. there's no files of it on my computer, aand when i say uninstall, it gives me errors... i think a friend may have tried to install a hacked version at some point, and i'm guessing it's still in the registry... how can i take it out of there so i can reinstall it?
Echuu Shen-Jon Posted May 4, 2003 Posted May 4, 2003 Go to add/remove programs and look for Jedi Knight II: Jedi Outcast. If it doesn't show up, go to my computer and seek for the game. If it isn't there either... If you're using your parents computer, ask them before doing ANYTHING...I can't be responsible if the following doesn't work!!! Go to start-menu, click run, type "regedit" and click OK, go to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE, go to "software" look for Jedi Knight and delete it! If this ruins your computer it's your own fault! I AM NOT AT ANY POINT RESPOSIBLE!!!!
Zsenshi-Ryuu Posted May 4, 2003 Posted May 4, 2003 LMAO! Dude, it' won't ruin the computer.. you removing a registry entry! well, if the game is installed it might cause some damage... but if it's not them don't worry about it... alot of those registry keys are kept even for programs that have been unistalled it's good to go in there one in a while and delete stuff you KNOW is not on your computer anymore.
Echuu Shen-Jon Posted May 4, 2003 Posted May 4, 2003 I've lost a lot of files because a freind (or what you call it) deleted a program from the registry!

Andy867 Posted May 5, 2003 Posted May 5, 2003 I agree Zsenshi-Ryuu, but if anything, just download RegCleaner and it will show the lists of the registry, that way you can easily and safely remove any links to Jedi Outcast without botching anything else. Also make sure that the CD is clean so all files get safely transferred from CD to the jedi Outcast folder.
Echuu Shen-Jon Posted May 5, 2003 Posted May 5, 2003 I think you should post the URL! I've forgotten it!
Andy867 Posted May 5, 2003 Posted May 5, 2003 you are probably going to hit your head on your computer desk or whatever, but the url for regcleaner is http://www.regcleaner.com
