MattKG Posted May 6, 2003 Share Posted May 6, 2003 In JK2 SP there is an option in the CFG file, something like gsaber_autoaim, that if set right, allows saber combat to be much more interesting. MattKG Posted May 7, 2003 Author Share Posted May 7, 2003 Look through the CFG file options for the single player game...theres a g_saber_autoaim (or something similar) and theres also an option that allows for realistic dismemberment (something like g_saber_realisticcombat). Does anyone know about this? Actually though it probably wont matter to me anymore when MOTF is finished...because its already doing better than what I wanted to do with that option in the MP game. MattKG Posted May 8, 2003 Author Share Posted May 8, 2003 Well heres what I mean and what my situation is...maybe this is uniquely my problem...I dont know because I've never played anyone else's JK2... In the SP game, there are many different saber moves available. I'm not exactly sure of this cause it's been a while since I've played with it (I took like 6 months off JK2 editing) but theres the option of g_saber_autoaim only in SP. If its set to '1' or On, the saber swing is directed generally in the area of where your pointing...like if your looking straight ahead it will be a side-swing, if your looking downward it will be a downward chop. Now, if you turn it off, what i THINK happens, althought I dont quite remember, is that the saber will swing depending on how your moving your mouse, I think kinda like the forthcoming 'mouse sabering' thing in MotF. I'm not exactly sure about how this works...I'm gonna check tomorrow and play around with the option. (it should be in the jk2config.cfg file and I think defaults to being on) Now my problem is, in the MP game, no matter what you do, the saber attack move is ALWAYS a downward chop. If your running around, standing still, whatever, its always that move. Occasionally when your fighting an opponent with sabers, it will do some block move or something, but otherwise, its always the downward chop. This is the case in the normal un-modded game, and with MotF or any other mod I play. Is this normal? Because its certainly not fun... That's why I usually play SP games against random NPCs. And why I made my NPC Manager utility that you do all kinds of things with NPCs and make completely new ones. But the MP game IS a whole lot better with bots...IF it wasnt for that saber problem. I'm just wonder if thats normal, and if MotF will fix it, or what... Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
