Huz Posted May 26, 2003 Share Posted May 26, 2003 Sail near them on the map and you'll end up in an action segment. You need to fire your cannons at them by clicking the mouse, while avoiding their own shots. If you can't be bothered with this action bit, ask Haggis for some help and it'll suddenly become a lot easier. Then you'll board the ship and be involved in an insult sword fight. Rottingham explained how it worked when you first met him, so you totally should have been paying attention. To recap: 1) A pirate insults you. 2) You have to choose the correct comeback, which must rhyme with the insult. 3) If you succeed, you get to choose the next insult. In order to 'learn' all the insults and the possible replies, you need to get involved in as many fights as you need. You'll probably lose early on, but eventually as you become more experienced you'll build up more insults and more replies. The trick is, when you get the chance to choose an insult, choose one to which you do not know the correct answer - if the pirate knows it, then you've just learned it too. You get the treasure by winning these battles. Keep upgrading your cannons, then attack some better pirates, and so on until you're ready to win against Rottingham. Good luck. If you keep finding that nothing really matches what he's saying, you need to collect a few more replies. Carry on fighting the lesser pirates to do that. aromatherapy Posted June 30, 2003 Share Posted June 30, 2003 to get kenny's larger cannons you need to go back to the town each time you win some treasure. this is because you can trade in your old cannons and treasure as well. good luck!!
