rgoer
Don't you hate it when you spend about twenty hours straight working on a map, adding what you think might be "finishing touches" to some project or another, then you look at that crap then next morning and realize: "holy mother of balls! All that work just looks like one big suck!" and you throw the whole thing in the bin. Rubbish!
Business_Eskimo
Yes. I do. I believe we all do.

rgoer
No, nothing that drastic... check my thread in the showcase forum, it's almost done. I just pulled an all-nighter the other night trying to actually "finish" it, only to look at all my "work" the next morning and realize: "hmm, this stuff actually kind of sucks. A lot." It's coming together now, though, I just can't let myself try and rush things ;^)
merlinova
Your map probably didn't "suck" at all... That's the problem we mapping perfectionists have quite often. Spend hours upon hours just on the first room to make sure that we are completely satisfied...that is what many of us do, I am sure...
Andur_Sunrider
Indeed Mernlinova, indeed. I spent 5 months on a map, that a clan had I was in wanted. The person who had requested was on leave, so I showed it to another HC, well he didnt like it at all. So I spent another 3 months making a brand new one. Finally they liked that one. However my first map though, I spent hours making it and trying to add detail to it. Didnt like it, but people took it and published it for me. merlinova
Ah, but the sense of satisfaction you have when it is published! Makes it worthwhile, definitely...

I played twilight last night for the first time, then country roads 2, and realized just how badly my own map sucked. I don't think I'm ever going to work on it again. lukeskywalker1
Dont give up man, it took me about 2 months to do my 1st, and it looks bad..... my clan says its good, but i dont think it is, at least not compared to my new map Dark Spire Clan map 2. (the first one was Dark Spire Clan map) Anyways, if you screw up really bad, just go to your maps directory, then find a back up of your map in there. Then take it and take the number off the end. (if you know what im talking about, if not, then ask me here... i dont feel like writing something long....) -lukeskywalker1
