rgoer
I've got a room with a water brush filling up the lower third of its volume. There are various other brushes in the room, some in, some out of the water. Anyway, when the player stands on some of the out-of-water brushes, the player model is drawn with that "you're underwater" desaturated tint overlay! These are perfectly "dry" brushes! Has anybody ever encountered this? Is there a reason behind it? Is it avoidable?
Shotokan
Hm... I've encountered that same problem when I created a room of death that fills up with water. Once I stepped in, however, the entire room turned blue and so did my player but the water didn't come up yet! The only way I fixed it was to delete the whole water thing and come up with a new function for that room, but I don't think you'll want to do that hehehe.
