halfdollar
I'm no noob to Jedi Knight II. But, I am a noob to creating servers. How do you do it? I can create servers just for myself or for LAN, but not servers that run on the internet. Someone please help me. Thank you.
EvilCrow
To make a dedicated server that runs on the Internet: Open JK2 Multiplayer, setup the server how you normally would, but where it says "Dedicated:", select "Internet", instead of No or LAN. Selecting Internet will open a new instance of JK2, but only as a console. The console contacts the JK2 master server list adds your server to it, which allows other players to join your server. Selecting LAN will open a new instance of JK2, but limits the server to only be available for play on your local area network, this way any computers that are linked to yours by Ethernet are only available. Selecting No, will force your server to be non-dedicated, which will keep you in the same instance of the game, as well as broadcast this over LAN and the Internet, but you will not be able to minimize it, or anything like you would with a dedicated server. Non-dedicated servers are recommended for small matches or a short clan fight.
Andy867
Also, make sure to open up the proper ports, usually 28070 to 28079 and that the ports are then forwarded to your machine's specific IP address.
