how can tell Pump Adjustments on "tree" is Working

how can I tell that my adjustments to the pumps on the "tree" are working as I stop, The wheel barrow on the hoses.

as you can see, there are four hoses, one for each pump. the moment you place the wheel over one of the hoses, one of the pumps stops moving. keep doing this until you get first the two on the right and then the two on the left
