Rogue-for-Higher
There were I belive Three Yamato Class BB in the IJN during WWII. The creators of Star Trek wanted a USS Yamato NCC-71807 serving along side a USS Enterpise, also there was a USS Akagi NCC-62158 (After a IJN Carrier) which severed along side a USS Hornet NCC-45231 (A US Carrier at Midway). Also the Bismark had a sister ship called the Terpiz (bad spelling) which was sunk in port.

Kuuki
lemme guess, she went about 2700ft and wasn't heard from again, aside from a few knocks on a hull for a while, then the silence... mmmm... quiet... Nitro
Kinda sounds like our Canadian submarines with the leaky torpedo tubes we can only load in port or the sub'll fill up with water.

Well with those Upholders (Victoras) you almost don't need to reload! Oh as for the Mike Alfa and Serria, I just looked in the SCX data base the Alfa could go down to 1400 ft at a speed of 43 knots, the Serria 2625 at 35 Knots, and the Mike 3900 at 31 Knots. Just wanted to correct my self.

Your thinking of K 141 the RFS Kursk. She was a Oscar II or Antyey class SSGN. Oh and the Chinise just lost a SS, a Ming class boat, appantly they ran the deasils with the vents closed, sucked up all the air.
Nitro
Actually, the Alfa had a oerational depth somewhere in the 2000 foot range, a never-exceed depth down around 3000 feet, and a calculated crush between 3900 and 4000 feet. And a couple could make 45 knots... It was an irregularity they never got figured out. Kinda like the reactor trouble they had... If I'm not mistaken, four of the six Alfas made had reactor problems. Rogue-for-Higher
Didn’t they have a Liquid Sodium reactor? I think the US tried it once and gave up.
